Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).
  2. Remove the knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement.
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement.

  4. Disconnect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.

    5. Object Number: 1552345 Size: SH
  5. Remove the air temperature actuator screws.
  6. Remove the air temperature actuator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1552345 Size: SH

    Note: The key should be in the OFF position when connecting the electrical connectors to ensure proper calibration.

  1. Install the air temperature actuator.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the air temperature actuator screws.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.2 N·m (19 lb in).

  3. Install the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
  4. Install the I/P tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement.
  5. Install the knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement.
  6. Install the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).

    7. Note: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control assembly while the HVAC control assembly and actuators are calibrating. If interrupted improper HVAC performance will result.

  7. Start the engine and let run for one minute.
