DEALER CAMPAIGN RESPONSIBILITY
THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN IS TO BE PERFORMED AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF TIME, MILEAGE, OR OWNERSHIP. DEALERS ARE TO INSPECT AND CORRECT ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES IN NEW AND USED VEHICLE STOCK PRIOR TO THEIR SALE.
WHENEVER A VEHICLE SUBJECT TO THIS CAMPAIGN IS TAKEN INTO YOUR NEW OR USED VEHICLE INVENTORY, OR IT IS IN YOUR DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE IN THE FUTURE, YOU SHOULD TAKE THE STEPS NECESSARY TO BE SURE THE CAMPAIGN CORRECTION HAS BEEN MADE.
SERVICE PROCEDURE.
1. OPEN THE HOOD AND LOCATE THE PAPER TAG ON THE RIGHT HAND VALVE COVER CONTAINING THE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER. IF THE ENGINE NUMBER IS BETWEEN D10118410 -D10201731, ROTATING THE INJECTION PUMP WILL BE REQUIRED. IN THE EVENT THE ENGINE NUMBER IS NOT WITHIN THESE BREAKPOINTS OR THE ENGINE NUMBER IS MISSING, DO NOT PERFORM THE CORRECTION. PROCEED TO STEP 7.
2. FOR ENGINES WITHIN THE SERIAL NUMBER BREAKPOINTS, REMOVE THE AIR CLEANER.
3. WIPE THE PUMP AND ADAPTER FLANGES CLEAN AND THEN AFFIX THE SPECIAL TAPE PROVIDED (FIGURE 1, STEP "A"). LINE UP THE LONG LINE IN THE CENTER OF THE TAPE WITH JOINT LINE BETWEEN THE ADAPTER AND PUMP FLANGE. FIG. 1.
4. WITH THE TAPE FIRMLY STUCK IN PLACE, CUT THE TAPE WITH A RAZOR BLADE AT THE JOINT. (FIGURE 1, STEP "B").
5. LOOSEN THE THREE PUMP TO ADAPTER NUTS AND ROTATE THE PUMP FIGURE 2 STEP "C" TO LINE UP THE MARKS ON THE TAPE (FIGURE 2, STEP "D"). RETORQUE NUTS TO 24 NM (18 FT. LBS.).
6. REINSTALL AIR CLEANER.
7. CLOSE THE HOOD.

A KIT CONTAINING THE TAPE WILL BE SHIPPED TO DEALERS AT NO CHARGE FOR EACH VEHICLE LISTED IN THE PRINTOUT FURNISHED TO YOU. ADDITIONAL KITS MAY BE OBTAINED FROM YOU ZONE OFFICE.

EACH VEHICLE MODIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS OUTLINED IN THIS PRODUCT CAMPAIGN BULLETIN WILL REQUIRE A "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL." EACH LABEL PROVIDES A SPACE TO INCLUDE THE FIVE DIGIT DEALER CODE OF THE DEALER PERFORMING THE CAMPAIGN SERVICE. THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INSERTED WITH A TYPEWRITER OR BALLPOINT PEN.
EACH "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL" IS TO BE LOCATED ON THE RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT IN AN AREA WHICH WILL BE VISIBLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT IN FOR PERIODIC SERVICING BY THE OWNER.
