Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the left valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  4. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  5. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .

    6. Object Number: 61836 Size: SH
  6. Remove the lifter guide bolts.
  7. Remove the lifter guide(s).
  8. Remove the valve lifter(s).
  9. Clean the gasket surfaces.
  10. Clean the valve train parts.
  11. Inspect the valve lifters and the cam lobes for wear. Refer to Valve Lifters Clean and Inspect .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 61836 Size: SH
  1. Install the valve lifter(s) to the same location from which they were removed.
  2. Install the lifter guide(s) and bolts. Refer to Valve Lifter Installation .
  3. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  4. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  5. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  6. Install the right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  7. Install the left valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
