Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.

  2. Object Number: 12735  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the accelerator cable cross slug from the throttle body slot.
  4. Depress the tangs and remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable bracket.

  5. Object Number: 319387  Size: SH
  6. If applicable, disconnect the cruse control cable from the throttle lever and the accelerator bracket.

  7. Object Number: 12689  Size: SH
  8. Remove the nuts and the bolts holding the accelerator cable bracket to the throttle body.
  9. Remove the accelerator cable bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12689  Size: SH
  1. Install the accelerator cable bracket to the throttle body.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts and the bolts.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
        • Tighten the bolts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  5. Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator cable bracket.
  6. Connect the accelerator cable cross slug to the throttle body slots.

  7. Object Number: 319387  Size: SH
  8. If applicable, connect the cruise control cable to the throttle lever and the accelerator cable bracket.
  9. Test for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal.
