Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 3.4L. or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 3.8L.

  2. Object Number: 629687  Size: SH
  3. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector lever cable from the automatic transaxle range selector lever.

  4. Object Number: 629693  Size: SH
  5. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector lever retaining nut.
  6. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector lever from the automatic transaxle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 629693  Size: SH
  1. Install the automatic transaxle range selector lever to the automatic transaxle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the automatic transaxle range selector lever retaining nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the automatic transaxle range selector lever retaining nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the automatic transaxle range selector lever cable to the automatic transaxle range selector lever.
  6. Adjust the automatic transaxle range selector lever cable if necessary. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  7. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 3.4L. or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 3.8L.
