Action

The power steering high pressure hose is grounding out.

Ensure that the power steering high pressure hose is routed properly.

Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement .

The power steering gear bearing preload is misadjusted.

Adjust the power steering gear bearing preload to specification. Refer to Steering Gear Rack Bearing Preload Adjustment - Off Vehicle .

The power steering gear is loose.

Tighten the power steering gear mounting bolts to specification. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications or Steering Gear Replacement .

The tie rod end(s) are loose.

Repair or replace the tie rod ends as necessary. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement

The steering intermediate shaft is loose.

Repair or replace the intermediate steering shaft as necessary. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
