Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Impala

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 457533  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  4. Remove the nuts from the front bumper fascia at the fender.

  5. Object Number: 457537  Size: SH
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper front bumper fascia support using J 38778 .

  7. Object Number: 457535  Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws from the front bumper fascia at the lower support.
  9. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the grille from the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Grille Replacement .
  11. Remove the front bumper fascia outer support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Outer Reinforcement Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front bumper fascia outer support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Outer Reinforcement Replacement .
  2. Install the grille. Refer to Fascia Grille Replacement .
  3. Install the fascia to the vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 457537  Size: SH
  5. Install the push-in retainers to the front upper bumper fascia support.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the front bumper fascia to lower support bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia lower support screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the front bumper fascia to fender nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  11. Install the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  12. Install the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  13. Install the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Monte Carlo

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  4. Object Number: 457301  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts from the front bumper fascia at the fender.

  6. Object Number: 457300  Size: SH
  7. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper front bumper fascia support using J 38778 .

  8. Object Number: 457297  Size: SH
  9. Remove the screws from the front bumper fascia at the lower support.
  10. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the front bumper fascia reinforcement. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Outer Reinforcement Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front bumper fascia reinforcement. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Outer Reinforcement Replacement .
  2. Install the fascia to the vehicle.

  3. Object Number: 457300  Size: SH
  4. Install the push-in retainers to the front upper bumper fascia support.

  7. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia lower support screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  10. Install the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  11. Install the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  12. Install the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
