🢒 Power Steering Return Hose Replacement
Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3.4L
Removal Procedure
Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering lines retaining bracket on the engine.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler pipe.
Remove the power steering return hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the power steering return hose.
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler pipe.
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering lines retaining bracket on the engine.
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
Fill the power steering system. Refer to
Refilling the Power Steering System
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3.8L
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering hose retainer.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
Installation Procedure
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear line retainer.
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear .
Tighten
Tighten the power steering return hose fitting to 27 N·m(20 lb. ft.)
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler pipe.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
Lower the vehicle.
Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to
Refilling the Power Steering System
.
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
