Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Support the exhaust system.
- Remove the exhaust pipe hanger insulator from the exhaust pipe hanger bracket.
- Remove the exhaust pipe hanger bolt.
- Remove the exhaust pipe hanger bracket.
- Remove the exhaust pipe rear hanger insulators from the muffler rear hanger brackets.
- Remove the rear bumper impact bar bolts.
- Remove the exhaust muffler rear hanger brackets.

Installation Procedure
- Install the exhaust muffler rear hanger brackets.
- Install the rear bumper impact bar bolts.
- Install the exhaust pipe rear hanger insulators to the muffler and the rear hanger bracket.
- Install the exhaust pipe hanger bracket.
- Install the exhaust pipe hanger bolt.
- Install the exhaust pipe rear hanger insulator to the exhaust pipe hanger bracket.
- Remove the support from the exhaust system.
- Inspect the exhaust system for underbody contact.
- Lower the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
