J 41352 Steering Column Holding Fixture


    Object Number: 324810  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the upper trim cover (2) and secure with the TORX® head screw (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  3. If column shift, the shift lever seal must seat correctly in the trim covers.

  4. Object Number: 324805  Size: SH
  5. Install the lower trim cover (1) and secure by using the 2 pan head tapping screws (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  7. Remove the steering column from J 41352 .
  8. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  9. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  10. Install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
  11. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
