- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
Installation Procedure
- Install new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly.
Refer to
Compressor Sealing Washers Replacement
.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the A/C compressor hose bolt to the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the lower air
deflector. Refer to
Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
Important: The new O-ring seals must be lubricated with mineral base 525 viscosity
refrigerant oil.
- Install the new O-ring seal to the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer
to
O-Ring Replacement
.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut onto the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor
hose to the condenser.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
