Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the BCM from the bracket and position aside.
  3. Remove the stop lamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  4. If equipped, remove the TCC/cruise release switch.
  5. Remove the wiring harness clips from the bracket.

  7. Remove the pushrod retaining clip from the brake pedal.
  8. Remove the pushrod and washer from the brake pedal.

  9. Object Number: 630032  Size: SH
  10. Remove the brake pedal nut and bolt.
  11. Remove the brake pedal and bushings.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 630032  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake pedal and the bushings.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the brake pedal nut and bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pedal nut and bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the washer and pushrod to the brake pedal.
  6. Install the pushrod retaining clip to the brake pedal.
  7. Install the wiring harness clips to the bracket.
  8. If equipped, install the TCC/cruise release switch.
  9. Install the stop lamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  10. Reposition and install the BCM into the retaining bracket.
  11. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
