  12. Object Number: 296249 Size: SH
  13. Remove the HVAC module seal that is located between the upper and lower cases.
  14. Start to remove the HVAC module case seal (blower motor side of case) seal (2) from the lower module case at the position shown (1).

    Object Number: 607153 Size: SH

Important: The left and right air temperature doors separate in the center.

  15. Carefully pull the air temperature doors apart in the center to remove the air temperature door from the HVAC module case.
  16. Remove the air temperature doors (1,2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 607153 Size: SH

Important: The left and right air temperature doors pivot in the center.

  1. Install the air temperature doors (1,2).
  2. Carefully align the air temperature door into the HVAC module case.

    Object Number: 296253 Size: SH
  3. Install the new case seal (2) into the HVAC module case (1).
  4. Important: Inspect the condition of the retaining tab on the upper module case prior to installing the lower module case. If the retaining tab is broken or damaged, install an external retaining clip, P/N 52458793, or equivalent.

    Object Number: 295357 Size: SH
  5. Align and install the upper HVAC module case to the lower module case.
  6. Align and secure the retaining tab (1) on the upper module case to the retaining slot on the lower module case.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the HVAC module assembly upper mounting screws.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

    Object Number: 606987 Size: SH
  9. Install the recirculation housing (2).
  10. Install the recirculation housing retaining screws (1).
  11. Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

    Object Number: 295335 Size: SH
  12. Position the right air temperature actuator, then align the slots in the electric actuator drive to the flats of the shaft.
  13. Align the locating hole to the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.
  14. Slide the actuator drive on the shaft. The actuator drive should set completely on the shaft and the mounting holes should be flush with the mounting screws on the HVAC module case.

  16. Install the screws to the right air temperature actuator.
  17. Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  18. Position the left air temperature actuator, then align the slots in the electric actuator drive to the flats of the shaft.
  19. Align the locating hole to the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.
  20. Slide the actuator drive on the shaft. The actuator drive should set completely on the shaft and the mounting holes should be flush with the mounting screws on the HVAC module case.
  21. Install the screws to the left air temperature actuator.
  22. Tighten
