Object Number: 809727 Size: A2

The button is located on the instrument panel to the right of the exterior lamp knob.

When the SURV MODE button is pressed, all automatic exterior and interior lighting functions are disabled. In daylight, the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL), are off and the transaxle shift indicator (PRNDL) and clock/radio displays are at minimum intensity. Press the SURV MODE button again to reactivate these lighting functions. At nighttime the Automatic Lamp Control (ALC) is disabled and exterior lamps, interior instrument displays and dome lamp are off and the PRNDL and clock/radio displays are at minimum intensity. All lighting functions can still be activated manually if necessary.

Automatic Lamp Control and Daytime Running Lamps on Impala police sedans sold in Canada are not disabled when the surveillance button is pressed, however the DRL are off when the transaxle is in PARK (P). The exterior lamps on Impala police sedans sold in Canada can be maintained off at nighttime by:

    • Setting the parking brake before starting the engine
    • Starting the engine with the transaxle in PARK (P)
    • Releasing the parking brake while keeping the automatic transaxle in PARK (P)
