When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

As a result of a recent change in the headlamp reflector, it is now possible to eliminate the headlamp bulb shield on the low beam bulb of the Impala headlamp assembly, without any noticable change in lighting performance. The elimination of the bulb shield will take place in the next few weeks and will simplify the production of the headlamp assembly. The rectangular hole in the reflector that the shield was inserted into will still be present, so it may be thought that the headlamp was misbuilt with the bulb shield missing. This is an intentional change; the headlamp should not be replaced for a presumed missing or misbuilt condition.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
