Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn ON the park lamps.
  3. Turn ON the fog lamps.

Do both fog lamps illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Did only one fog lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With the scan tool, command the fog lamp relay ON and OFF.

Does the fog lamp relay turn ON and OFF with each command?

Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the fog lamp relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between battery positive voltage circuit and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or high resistance in the inoperative fog lamp voltage supply or ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Replace the fog lamp relay. Refer to Relay Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or high resistance in the fog lamp voltage supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
