Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Disconnect the heated seat relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  3. Verify that the heated seat switch is in the OFF position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test the seat heater element supply circuit for a short to battery positive voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Test for a short to battery positive voltage in the heated seat switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the heated seat switch. Refer to Front Seat Heater Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the heated seat relay. Refer to Relay Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Do the high or low heated seat switch indicators remain illuminated with the switch in the off position?
