The body control module (BCM) ground circuits provide ground for the 2 Theater Dimming systems for interior lamps, brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid, BCM electronics and the door locks.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B1349 Device Ground {single or 1} (chassis ground 1) Circuit Open
The BCM electronics ground must be connected to ground.
The BCM detects that any of its ground circuits are greater than 4 volts for longer than 300 milliseconds.
• | The interior lamps do not function correctly. |
• | The brake transmission safety interlock may not function correctly. |
• | The door lock features may not operate correctly. |
• | The BCM stores DTC B1349 in memory. |
• | A current DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold, without a repeat of the malfunction. |
