J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.1L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8L.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.

  3. Object Number: 1246186  Size: SH
  4. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor from the evaporator tube.

Installation Procedure

  1. Replace the O-ring seal for the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 1246186  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to the evaporator tube.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 4.7 N·m (41 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.1L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8L.
  7. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
