Subject: | Trunk Opens When the Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) Button Is Pressed on the Key Fob |
Models: | 2006-2007 Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
While verifying key fob operation, after programming a new Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) or reprogramming an existing RCDLR, the trunk may open when the remote start button is pressed on the key fob.
This can be caused by an incorrect calibration having been programmed in the RCDLR. Since this RCDLR is used on several common electrical architecture vehicles, there are several calibrations to choose from. If you are unable to determine which calibration to select, contact Techline Customer Service Center (TCSC) (800) 828-6860, for assistance. Reprogram the RCDLR with the correct calibration and verify all the key fob buttons work correctly.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
