Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the transaxle oil cooler (TOC) outlet hose from top side of the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the TOC hose retainer bolt.
  4. Position a drain pan below the oil cooler hoses.

  6. Disconnect the TOC outlet hose from the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .

  7. Object Number: 823224  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the TOC inlet hose from the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .

  9. Object Number: 1666158  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the TOC inlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Disconnect the TOC hoses from the radiator support retainer.
  12. Remove the TOC hoses from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.

  1. Install the TOC hoses to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the TOC hoses to the radiator support retainer.
  3. Connect the TOC inlet hose to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .

  4. Object Number: 823224  Size: SH
  5. Connect the TOC inlet hose to the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .

  6. Object Number: 823225  Size: SH
  7. Connect the TOC outlet hose to the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the TOC hose retainer and the bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Connect the TOC outlet hose to the top side of the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  13. Notice: Do NOT overfill the transaxle. The overfilling of the transaxle causes foaming, loss of fluid, shift complaints, and possible damage to the transaxle.

  14. Adjust the fluid level. Refer to the following procedures:
