The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When the base radio RPO U1C is replaced, a VIN relearn must be completed using the Tech 2. The VIN relearn is missing for the 2007 Impala and Monte Carlo on the current Tech 2 software version.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The work around is to build the vehicle as a 2006 Impala or Monte Carlo, then perform the VIN relearn. This concern is expected to be resolved on the next Tech 2 software version.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
