The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Operation of the HVAC system during a remote vehicle start event.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the ambient temperature reading is at or below 38°F on the Driver Information Center (DIC), the HVAC system will go into defrost mode, the temperature will be full hot, and the blower will go to high speed.

If the ambient temperature reading is above 38°F on the DIC, the HVAC system will go into vent mode, the temperature will be full cold, and the blower will go to approximately 50%.

Note: If the vehicle was built on or before December 30, 2005 verify the HVAC control head has the latest software. If not, program the HVAC control head with the latest software so the system will perform as designed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
