The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
2006-2007 Impala and Monte Carlo replacement windshields do not have the antenna for the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) integrated in glass.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Due to a product concern with the RKE system 2007 Impala and Monte Carlo were built with no integrated antenna in the glass starting 12/15/2006. The service windshield will not have an integrated antenna in the glass either. If you get a vehicle in for service needing a new windshield and it still has the glass integrated antenna, you will need to order the updated antenna to complete the repair. Reference bulletin #06-08-52-002D for the part number of the updated antenna.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
