Heated Seats Intermittently Inoperative - keywords connector element

Subject:Heated Seats Intermittently Inoperative

Models:2008 Chevrolet Impala

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Heated seats inoperative or intermittently inoperative.

Recommendation/Instructions:

It has been reported and verified that the female terminals in the heated seat element connector may have a bent or depressed tab which may cause an intermittent connection. If either the driver or passenger heated seat is inoperative first check the terminals in the heated seat element connector, for the inoperative seat, to make sure that the terminals are properly seated and that the metal tab inside the terminal is not bent or depressed. In most cases a metal pick can be used to release the depressed tab. If the terminals in the connector are not damaged continue with SI diagnostics.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
