The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES) light has come on. When checking for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), codes P1174, P3401, P3417 or P3433 may be found.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the Lifter Oiling Manifold Assembly (LOMA) wiring harness that goes across the intake manifold for contact with a stud. See picture. If the harness is contacting the stud it will be necessary to open up the conduit and inspect for any chaffed or damage wires. Repair wires as necessary and reposition harness away from the stud.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
