The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

No compass or ambient temperature displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC) after Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) replacement.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This concern can occur if the wrong part number IPC is ordered and installed. Prior to ordering an IPC from the exchange center, obtain the part number from the defective unit by either removing the IPC to obtain the part number, or using the Tech 2 Tool to obtain the part number.

Note: If the old part number is not available and the new IPC does not have the compass or ambient temperature display contact the exchange center and advise them that an IPC with compass and ambient temperature is required for the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
