The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Should the customer comment about a harsh 1-2 shift and diagnosis indicates current or history code P0842, follow SI procedures to remove the transmission valve body.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Remove the PWM (item 334) and inspect the screen for damage from machining debris.
If debris is present review TSB 08-07-30-002A Valve Body Reconditioning Bulletin. If the TCC control valve (item 335) moves freely in the bore, replace the PWM solenoid (item 334) and reinstall the valve body per SI procedures.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
