Cruise Control Inoperative And No DTCs - keywords ABS BPMV brake EBCM sensor switch

Subject:Cruise Control Inoperative and No DTCs

Models:2006-2008 Chevrolet Impala
2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Cruise control is inoperative and there are no DTCs.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If after following SI diagnostics the cause of the cruise control being inoperative cannot be found, check the brake pressure sensor input voltage in the VSES data on the Tech 2.

If the voltage is.6 volts or higher, verify the brake pedal is not applied, then replace the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV).

If the brake pressure sensor input voltage is.6 volts or higher, the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) interprets that as the brake pedal being applied and cruise control is disabled. The sensor is internal to the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
