The electronic brake control module (EBCM) monitors the duration and how many times antilock brakes or the traction control is activated to calculate an estimated temperature of the brake components to prevent overheating.
Ignition ON.
The EBCM detects the temperature of the brakes is too high.
• | The EBCM disables the traction control system (TCS)/vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES). |
• | A DIC message and/or a warning indicator may be displayed. |
• | The EBCM calculates the brakes have cooled sufficiently. |
• | The EBCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles. |
