Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1225403 Size: SH
  1. Pry off the front door sill plate. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  2. Remove the tailgate remote handle screws (3).
  3. Disconnect the cable (1).
  4. Remove the tailgate remote handle (2).

    5. Object Number: 1615026 Size: SH
  5. Pry off the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Pry off the rear door sill plate. Refer to Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  7. Pry off the cargo area rear trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Remove the cable retaining strip.
  9. Disconnect the tailgate remote cable (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1225397 Size: SH
  1. Connect the tailgate remote cable to the tailgate lock striker.
  2. Retain the cable with the strip.
  3. Install the cargo area rear trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the rear door sill plate. Refer to Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  5. Install the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Connect the tailgate remote cable to the handle.
  7. Install the tailgate remote handle with the screws.
  8. Install the front door sill plate. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .
