Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the outer tie rod end. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1912795  Size: SH
  4. Remove the tie rod lock nut.

  5. Object Number: 1912796  Size: SH
  6. Remove the boot outer clamp (2).
  7. Cut and remove the boot wire clamp (1).

  8. Object Number: 1912797  Size: SH
  9. Coat the tie rod (1) with lubricant in order to ease removal of the boot.
  10. Remove the boot (2).

Installation procedure


    Object Number: 1912798  Size: SH
  1. Install the boot to the tie rod.
  2. Install the boot outer clamp.
  3. Install the boot wire clamp.
  4. Install the lock nut to the tie rod.
  5. Install the outer tie rod end. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
