The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that the right side door will not open from the inside door handle. The outside door handle will work correctly. This may be caused by the pivot screw backing out from the bell crank and the crank becoming loose enough to move out of position.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Engineering is working on a revised inside door handle assembly. The new handle will have a new left handed screw and a better adhesive for the pivot screw.
If you experience a vehicle that needs an immediate repair. Locate a left handed screw (obtain locally) that will fit in place or the right handed pivot screw and apply a thread locking adhesive to help hold the screw in place.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
