Clutch Noisy C6500, C7500, C8500

Causes

Action

DEFINITION: Growl or whine noise from the clutch when engaged or disengaged.

Review the Symptoms - Clutch and perform the necessary inspections.

Pilot bearing worn or damaged

Replace the pilot bearing. Refer to Clutch Pilot Bearing Replacement .

Clutch cable is binding

Replace the clutch cable. Refer to Clutch Cable Replacement .

Clutch cable is contacting the cab or frame

Repair the cable to prevent it from causing a noise.

Incorrect bore size for the clutch application

Repair as necessary.

Release bearing damaged or worn

Replace the release bearing. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement .
