Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.
Important: Program additional transmitters within 1 minute of the previously programmed transmitter.
An override code is used to disable the vehicle immobilizer module (VIM) and allow keyless entry transmitter programming. The override code is a 5 digit number which is entered into the VIM at the factory. The VIM override code may be entered manually or with a scan tool.
To determine the code and enter the override mode manually, perform the following:
The security indicator will flash the number of times equal to the first digit of the override code.
The security indicator will twelve times within 4 seconds in order to verify the input of the digit.
If the incorrect override code is entered the security indicator will turn off immediately and the VIM does not enter the override mode. When the correct override code is entered the security indicator will illuminate for approximately 10 seconds. The immobilizer is inactive and the transmitters may be programmed.
Perform the following while the security indicator is illuminated in order to program the transmitters:
The security indicator will flash 12 times to verify successful programming of the transmitter and then remain illuminated for approximately 10 seconds.
