Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2003 🢒 Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 7.8L 🢒 Camshaft Installation
  1. Apply clean engine oil to the camshaft bearing surfaces.

    2. Object Number: 736757 Size: SH

    Important: When installing the camshaft, make sure that the timing marks are in the proper alignment.

  2. Install the camshaft and the drive gear to the cylinder head.

    3. Object Number: 736649 Size: SH

    Important: When installing the camshaft bearing caps, make sure that the bearing caps are in numerical sequence.

  3. Install the bearing caps to the cylinder head.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the camshaft bearing cap bolts to the cylinder head.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
