    Object Number: 677833  Size: SH

    Important: The oil pan must be installed within five minutes of the sealer being applied or the sealer will begin to cure, causing an inadequate seal.

  1. Apply sealant GM P/N United States 12346141, GM P/N Canada 10953433, to the side of the front cover (1) and rear (2) crankshaft bearing cap, on both the left and right sides, 4 locations total.

  2. Object Number: 635649  Size: SH
  3. Install the new oil pan gasket (2) into the oil pan groove.
  4. Install the oil pan (1).

  5. Object Number: 677869  Size: SH
  6. Install the oil pan bolts.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence to 10 N·m (89 lb in) in a first pass.
        • Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) in a second pass.

  10. Install the oil pan drain plug.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  12. Lubricate the oil level sensor O-ring with engine oil.

  13. Object Number: 1310051  Size: SH
  14. Install the oil level switch.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level switch to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
