The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that the Service Brake Soon Indicator comes on. They may also comment that the audible brake warning buzzer is sounding Upon further investigation, you may find DTC C0272 set in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
Recommendation/Instructions:
If a concern can not be identified by following normal diagnosis, check for an open ABS-2 fuse in the UBEC. If the fuse checks out OK, check for battery voltage on circuit 1642 going to Pin 15 of the EBCM. Reports in the field have found circuit 1642 corroded and causing an open circuit or low voltage to pin 15 of the EBCM.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
