Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement L18
Removal Procedure
Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet
hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components.
Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid
and damage to the system.
- Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
- Disconnect the hose from the pump.
- Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
- Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hose to the power steering pump.
- Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.
Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.

Removal Procedure
Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet
hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components.

- Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
- Disconnect the hose from the pump.
- Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
- Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hose to the reservoir.
- Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the hose clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).
- Install the hose to the power steering pump.
- Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid
.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the straps securing the reservoir
outlet hose.
Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet
hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components.

and damage to the system.
- Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
- Disconnect the hose from the pump. Refer

- Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
- Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hose to the power steering
reservoir.
Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

- Tighten the hose clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).
- Install the hose to the power steering

outlet hose.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to

- Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hose to the engine brackets.
- Install the hose to the power steering
reservoir.
- Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the hose clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).
- Install the hose to the power steering
pump.
- Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid
