Power Brake Booster Outlet Hose Replacement LG5/LG4

Removal Procedure

    Important: Note the position of all the tie-wraps, power steering hoses and the hose insulators for proper re-installation.

  1. Remove the tie-wraps and the hose insulators.

    2. Object Number: 826206 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the hydraulic brake booster.

    3. Object Number: 798041 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the power steering reservoir.
  4. Remove the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Do not start the engine with any power steering hose disconnected, or damage to the components could occur.


    Object Number: 798041 Size: SH
  1. Install the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the power steering reservoir.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  3. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the hydraulic brake booster.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose fittings to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  4. Install the tie wraps and the hose insulators.
  5. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure

    Important: Note the position of all the tie-wraps, power steering hoses and the hose insulators for proper re-installation.

  1. Remove the tie-wraps and the hose insulators.

    2. Object Number: 826204 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the hydraulic brake booster.

    3. Object Number: 826179 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  4. Remove the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the hydraulic brake booster. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  4. Install the tie wraps and the hose insulators.
  5. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
