Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the outlet heater hose bracket bolt.

  3. Object Number: 660349  Size: SH
  4. Remove the right idler pulley (ribbed) retaining bolt.
  5. Remove the right idler pulley.
  6. Remove the left idler pulley (smooth) bolt.
  7. Remove the left idler pulley.
  8. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  9. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

  10. Object Number: 698198  Size: SH
  11. Remove the fuel bleed valve and nuts.
  12. Reposition the hose clamp at the side of the generator bracket.
  13. Remove the oil separator hose from the pipe.
  14. Remove the bolt for the engine wire harness retainer.

  15. Object Number: 660352  Size: SH
  16. Remove the 4 drive belt tensioner and generator mounting bracket bolts.
  17. Remove the drive belt tensioner and generator mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 660352  Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt tensioner and generator mounting bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner and generator mounting bracket with 4 bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt tensioner and generator mounting bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the fuel bleed valve and nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the oil separator hose to the pipe.
  8. Install the oil separator hose clamp at the side of the generator bracket.
  9. Install the engine wiring harness retainer bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the engine wiring harness bolt to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

  11. Install the drive belt tensioner. Align the pin on the tensioner with the hole in the bracket.
  12. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt tensioner bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  14. Install the left idler pulley (smooth).
  15. Install the left idler pulley bolt.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the left idler pulley bolt to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  17. Install the right idler pulley (ribbed).
  18. Install the right idler pulley retaining bolt.
  19. Tighten
    Tighten the right idler pulley retaining bolt to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  20. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  21. Install the outlet heater hose bracket bolt.
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the heater hose bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  23. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  24. Connect both battery negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
