Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 660296  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Place a suitable container under the engine in order to drain the oil.
  3. Remove the oil drain plug.
  4. Drain the engine oil.

  5. Object Number: 660316  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the oil level sensor.
  7. Remove the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 663624  Size: SH
  9. Remove the oil level sensor (1) and retaining clip (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 663624  Size: SH
  1. Install the oil level sensor (1) and retaining clip (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the oil level sensor bolt (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil level sensor bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 660316  Size: SH
  7. Connect the oil level sensor.
