This bulletin is being revised to announce the availability of a new Silicone Lubricant (U.S. Dealers only). Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-05-23-005 (Section 05 -- Brakes).
The front brake caliper slider pins on the above vehicles require the use of a specific Silicone based lubricant. The rubber slider pin seals may swell or crack from contact with traditional petroleum based lubricants.
A new Silicone Lubricant is now in stock with GMSPO for use on the caliper slider pins of the above models. NIGLUBE® Silicone Grease is currently the preferred product for this application. Please discontinue use of the 3M Silicone paste formerly required for this application.
At this time, please only use *3M® Silicone Paste, P/N 051135-08946. You may order this product direct from 3M at 1-800-364-3577.
*We believe this source and their products to be reliable. There may be additional manufacturers of such products/material.
