Owners of some 1990 W-cars (Coupe and Sedan) may comment on a white powder type substance on the rubber seal of the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL). The substance is a bleed-out of sulphur used in the processing of the rubber. Replace the shield and seal assembly with a new one. New part numbers are listed below:
