Some glove box switches on the 1990 Lumina may rattle.
The cause is that the switch may not be tight enough on early built Luminas. This was corrected in production with VIN's:
L9107366 (Oshawa #1) L1103212 (Oshawa #2)
1. Remove glove box from vehicle, following Service Manual instructions. Disconnect connector from switch.
2. Remove switch from glove box by depressing side "wings".
3. Add an appropriate size "O"-ring to the switch, as shown in the illustration.
4. Reinstall the switch into the glove box, making sure the switch is tight.
5. Reconnect the wiring connector to the switch, and reinstall the glove box.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
