VALVE STEM INTERFERENCE NEW DESIGN PLASTIC WHEEL COVER

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 CHEVROLET LUMINA

There could be possible interference between the valve stem and valve stem notch in the base Lumina plastic full wheel cover - RPO #PB2.

The valve stem notch has been widened to eliminate this potential interference. Vehicles produced after the following VIN have the new design wheel covers. VIN #2G1WL54RGL9109167

To correct this condition on earlier vehicles, remove the material in the valve stem notch as illustrated in Figure 2. The notch is to be widened from 10 mm = (.398370) 3/8 inch to 15 mm - (.59055) 5/8 inch.

IMPORTANT: When opening this notch use care to not scratch the dark gray paint around the notch. Also all edges and corners should be rounded at the notched areas.
