CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP NEW SHIELD AND SEAL ASSY.

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 CHEV/OLDS/PONT 'W' CAR

THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND REPLACES BULLETIN 90-2-100, dated 10/05/89 TO PROVIDE NEW PART NUMBERS FOR THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES.

1990 Chevrolet W-Car (Coupe and Sedan)

1990 Pontiac and Oldsmobile W Sedan

CONDITION: Owners of some 1990 W-cars (see models affected) may comment on a white powder type substance on the rubber seal of the Centre High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL).

CAUSE: The substance is a bleed-out of sulphur used in the processing of the rubber.

CORRECTION: Replace the shield and seal assembly with a new one. New part numbers are listed below.

IMPORTANT: When installing new shield and seal assembly be sure rubber seal does not contact back glass grid defogger lines.
