Radiator Hose Replacement 3.1L
Removal Procedure
J 38185 Spring Hose

Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant
is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion
may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at
50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.
- Drain the coolant to a level below the hose being removed. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Remove the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
- Disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) and the clamps, using the J 38185
, from the coolant outlet
(1) and the radiator inlet (3). Remove the hose.
- Disconnect the radiator outlet hose (3) and the clamps, using the J 38185
, from the engine (1) and the radiator
outlet (2). Remove the hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install the radiator outlet hose (3). Connect the hose and the clamps to the
radiator outlet (2) and the engine (1).
- Install the radiator inlet hose (2). Connect the hose and the clamps
to the radiator inlet (3) and the coolant outlet (1).
- Install the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
- Refill the coolant. Bleed the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling

Removal Procedure

- Install the radiator outlet hose (3). Connect the hose and the clamps to the
radiator outlet (2) and the engine (1).
- Install the radiator inlet hose (2). Connect the hose and the clamps to the
radiator inlet (3) and the coolant outlet (1).
- Install the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
- Refill the coolant. Bleed the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
