Radiator Hose Replacement 3.1L

Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

1. Drain the coolant to a level below the hose being removed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.



3. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the coolant outlet (1) and the radiator inlet (3). Remove the hose.



4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose (3) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the engine (1) and the radiator outlet (2). Remove the hose.

1. Install the radiator outlet hose (3). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator outlet (2) and the engine (1).



2. Install the radiator inlet hose (2). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator inlet (3) and the coolant outlet (1).
3. Install the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
4. Refill the coolant. Bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

1. Drain the coolant to a level below the hose being removed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.



3. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the coolant outlet (1) and the radiator inlet (3). Remove the hose.



4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose (3) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the engine (1) and the radiator outlet (2). Remove the hose.

1. Install the radiator outlet hose (3). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator outlet (2) and the engine (1).



2. Install the radiator inlet hose (2). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator inlet (3) and the coolant outlet (1).
3. Install the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
4. Refill the coolant. Bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

3. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the coolant outlet (1) and the radiator inlet (3). Remove the hose.



4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose (3) and the clamps, using the J 38185 , from the engine (1) and the radiator outlet (2). Remove the hose.

1. Install the radiator outlet hose (3). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator outlet (2) and the engine (1).



2. Install the radiator inlet hose (2). Connect the hose and the clamps to the radiator inlet (3) and the coolant outlet (1).
3. Install the engine crossbrace. Refer to Frame and Underbody.
4. Refill the coolant. Bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
