Generator Rear Bracket Replacement 3400 Engine LQ1

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 45678  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear bracket bolt.
  4. Remove the rear bracket stud.
  5. Remove the rear bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 45678  Size: SH
  1. Position the bracket to the engine.
  2. Hand tighten the bolt and the stud.
  3. Install the bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the stud.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the stud to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .
