Removal Procedure

Important: Care must be taken when handling the engine coolant temperature sensor. Damage to the engine coolant temperature sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.


    Object Number: 17127  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rear intake duct and MAF sensor assembly.
  3. Drain the engine coolant.
  4. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
  5. Disconnect the ECT Sensor electrical connector.
  6. Using a 19 mm deep well socket and 6 inch extension, remove the ECTsensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 17127  Size: SH
  1. Coat the engine coolant temperature sensor threads with sealer P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
  2. Install the sensor in engine
  3. Tighten:
    Torque the ECT sensor to 30 N·m (22 lb. ft.).

  4. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
  5. Refill the engine coolant.
  6. Install the rear intake duct and the MAF sensor assembly.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  9. Recheck the engine coolant level.
